In 2009, my ground crew and I started a project installing underground plumbing for a downtown Seattle construction project.
Memories
This past week, Yvonne Jones, who has been a friend of ours for over 35 years, had her annual company planning meeting here at our conference center. She is now the president of a specialty gifts and wrapping paper rep firm.
Defensive Fencer
One of the projects I’m currently managing is the HVAC portion of the Lower Columbia College gymnasium renovation. The work includes setting rooftop equipment, ductwork, controls, and balancing the system.
New Purchase Order System
Our Operations Department spends many hours each month filling out two-part purchase orders for monthly PM filter and belt orders. For job costing purposes, each job requires a separate purchase order number, even if the filters are all coming from the same vendor.
A Handle on Poor Performance
Last month, we delivered about seven or eight cabinets to a customer in LaCenter, WA. After Daniel, our backup delivery truck driver, unloaded the LaCenter shipment, he left to make his next delivery.
Beer with a Bully
I graduated from college in 1995 and went to work for JH Kelly as a Field Engineer. In the summer of 1997, I was assigned my first project management job: Foster Farms in Kelso, Washington.

Last week I was doing the LDL weekly reading in Making Moments Matter, 89 Tools for Taking Charge of Your Time, Chapter 8. I started to re-think my approach for the use of my time.

Scholarship
In March 2006, after some prompting from my dad, I applied for a 4-year full-ride scholarship through my dad's employer, the Halton Company. At that point I wasn't even sure I wanted to go to college.
