This past Tuesday, as we were traveling to Americus, GA, and the wonderful Windsor Hotel, we stopped at the Whistle Stop Café in Juliette, GA.
Day five of our 2020 Coast-to-Coast Adventure: We camped at Palomino RV Resort in Cullman, Georgia. We really liked the campground with its chapel, walking paths, and friendly hosts.

On June 14th, 1958, I got in my 1952 Chevy convertible with its ’55 Chevy V8 engine and headed for Cleveland, ready to go to work for The W. Bingham Company. It was a big deal moving from the little town of 30,000 I had grown up in, to a town of nearly one million.
A couple of months before graduating, I was devastated when my uncle Jerry O'Neal, General Superintendent of a highway construction business, said he wasn't going to hire me.
Day sixteen of our Coast-to-Coast Adventure 2020: we visited Harrold Warp’s Pioneer Village in Minden, NE. This extraordinary museum and village is dedicated to ‘telling the story of America and how it grew,” showing our progress from 1830 to 1960.
About two years after Reynolds Congdon passed, I saw his son, Don Congdon, who now owned Congdon’s Hardware on the main street of our little town. I approached him, with my heart beating out of my chest.
After about a year and a half of operating my paper route, the area manager decided he wanted to give the route to his son.
