The 8th day of our journey from Loganville, GA to Seabeck, WA: Today is June 23rd, our 57th wedding anniversary, and the anniversary of President James K. Polk signing the peaceful Oregon Treaty with Great Britain.
It was the beginning of 2019, a new year and we were working on a job site in North Portland. We had a new crew member working in the field with me who had only been with the company a little over a month.
The seventh day of our trip from Loganville, GA to Seabeck, WA, we attended the Grand Ole Opry, 80 years of continuously broadcasting "the program that made country music famous."

On the third day of our summer trip from Loganville, GA to Seabeck, WA, we toured the quaint pre-revolutionary town of Summerville, SC. Summerville was established as a summer refuge from the sweltering heat, mosquitoes, and swamp fever thriving in the low lands of Charleston.
At Session 1 of the Leadership Development Lab, our instructor explained the 'comfort zone' in ways I had never heard before. He pointed out that as our comfort zone expands we become more decisive, and more willing to take the initiative.
On Thursday, May 18 2019, I heard we had a new employee joining our company. For his first day on the job he was being sent out to our William Walker Elementary job.
